EcoRange

EcoRange™

EcoRange™ is a toolkit of standardized technical solutions, services and methods. It uses standard structural components and bolted connections based on long-term aluminium and composite design. To date, the EcoRange™ system has been used to build more than 35,000 buses.

The toolkit helps manufacturers reduce bus and coach body shell weight, thus lowering CO² emissions. Additionally, manufacturers achieve higher payloads and limit maintenance and repair costs, due to the durability and corrosion resistance of the material used.

EcoRange™ technical framework:

• Standardized aluminium extrusions of up to 600 mm wide with integrated T-slot channels for maximum flexibility
• Aluminium castings and forged connection elements
• Standard accessories
• Large composite components
• Cold joining of extrusions via bolted connections
• Structural adhesive bonds between aluminium and composite elements 
• Limited used of rivets
• Elimination of welding and drilling for assembly
